High View for our Key Stage 2 Cycling event
It was a brilliant afternoon at High View for our Key Stage 2 Cycling event.
High View and Hoyland Springwood students were put through their paces on a cycle course set around High View, having a full course to get through on the field timing how fast you could get round. The children were timed and counted how many times they completed the course with leaders helping them throughout.
The next stage was to have a go at the skills section, using balance, control and co-ordination. The participants had to use their own abilities on the bikes to twist, turn, duck, dive, stop, start and ride with one hand on each separate station, the limbo pole was a huge hit and it also took some hits.
The cycle adventure was a great afternoon, we look forward to doing more next academic year maybe even turning this event into a new improved competition.
Thanks to all the schools for coming to this event and a special thanks to Active Barnsley and High View for allowing the children access to all the bikes and providing leaders.
